Oh Behave!!!! in G-Scale Train Garden Railroad Layout LOL 09-27-13

(Blog Entry by Mary, Photos by Bob)

This has to be one of the silliest photo-shoots yet!   While I was taking photos for the Blog Entry  "New Kid on the Block" Bob was busy taking photos with one of the toy figures we picked up at Value Village over the past few months.  LOL!!!!!

I was actually in hysterics when he showed me all the photos.  I could hardly wait to post them in the blog.  I hope you find them as funny as we did.   Laughing is so good for you!!!!

Austin Powers decided to show up to our G-Scale Train Garden Railway and "Get Groovy, yeah baby yeah"  LOL!!!!   I'm not quite sure if the Ladies appreciated it.  By the looks on their faces and actions, I would say NOT.  LOL

Enjoy!!!

New Kid On the Block in the G-Scale Train Garden Railway 09-21-13

(Blog Entry by Bob, Photos By Mary)

We are constantly searching for awesome figures to do a photo-shoot with.  Mary spotted this "Boy Figure" on Ebay quite a while back and always wanted to purchase him.  A couple of weeks ago she surprised me when he arrived in the mail.  This is Mary's photo-shoot of him around town interacting with some of our other figures.

PHOTO 9:  Maybe the Car-wash Girl should of cleaned this tractor instead.   LOL    This tractor was in the tractor repair shop and we decided to pull it out for the photo-shoot and it was covered in cobwebs, there was a huge spider on it but it dove into the tractor deeper before a photo could be taken.  But, something else has discovered the little boy..... do you see it?

Renovations at Winona Garden Railway - G-Scale Train Railroad

(Blog Entry By Bob)

As some of you already know, we live in Southern Ontario, Canada in the middle of WINE COUNTRY.  This is great for us, but not so good for the G-Scale Train Shopping. Our local hobby store no longer stocks G-Scale, the second closest in Hamilton went out of business. Though, there are several G-scale stores in Ontario the closest, Winona Garden Railway, is an hour away with the others are 2-6 hours away.  WGRR not only sells and orders whatever you need, they also repair and install all the bells and whistles you would ever want. John is full of great knowledge when it comes to G-Scale!!!  The best part is the large train layout in the backyard that hosts Open Houses every year and is open for you to run a your own train almost whenever you want. Another great thing about the layout is that it is constantly changing and seems different every time you visit. During our latest trip there, John was ripping out the large loop around the big pond (and island) to install at narrow gauge logging route. The pond is a third of its size, the large "Forty-Creek Bridge" had been moved and massive earthworks  re-sodding was taking place.

Here is a collection of pictures that both Mary and I took at the end of August. Please click here to see previous visits to compare the changes.   We can't wait to see what has transpired when we go back to visit.

Since John was making some changes, he kindly donated some buildings and people for our own layout (they need some TLC, so stay tuned for other blog entries showing those buildings) In the boxes were some figures.   Mary could not WAIT to take photos - so she took a few photos of her own.

Some August 2013 G-Scale Train Garden Railway Photos

(BLOG ENTRY BY BOB)

While we are working on projects for the train blog, we also have fun and adventures at the same time.  Every week we run trains and take photographs but rarely do we post the 'small' photo shoots.  Here are three adventures we had in the month of August:

Ducks Crossing the Road
I had bought a collection of duck thumb tacks last year, but never figured out what to do with them.  I was going to push them into a piece of wood so that they could float around in the pond.  That never happened.  I was working on digging up a section of train track to lay more shingles when I decided to take a break and set up the ducks crossing the road.

Train derailment
Even though people suspect that I crash my trains on purpose to create accident scenes, the truth is that I am a pretty safe driver but accidents still happen. When they do the first thing we do is grab a camera.

Locomotive Lettering
As you have probably guessed by now, 'G-Scale Land' has not been given a proper name.  Our little town, residential community, the different stations and businesses do not have proper titles (Except for the Garnet Brewery).   The rail line has also remained anonymous until now.  The lettering on the locomotives is now complete and we are pleased to introduce the 'Bob and Mary' rail line (B&M - pronounced 'BAM!!!')
